May 19, 2017 Comments off

First Holy Communion was held in St. Joseph’s Church in Glenville on Saturday last 13th May 2017. Congratulations and well done to second class on making their First Holy Communion. A special thank you to their teacher Ms. Audrey Murphy and the SNA Anne Murphy who worked extremely hard in preparing the children for Holy Communion. We have to make a special mention to the choir who put on a great performance on the day under the guidance of Ms. Marion Forde and Ms. Mairead O Callaghan.

Thank you also to the Do This In Memory team who were a great help in the preparation for Holy Communion, especially Emma Thornhill O’ Mahony, Shella Browne and Annette Curtin. We would like to thank the parents who donated cakes and biscuits to the school for the day.  A special thank you to all those 1st class parents, parents from other classes and the Parents’ Association who helped out on the day with the refreshments in the Holy Family Centre afterwards. Without your help it wouldn’t have been possible.

Sciath na Scol Football Final 2016

February 15, 2017 Comments off

Congratulations!
Well done to our boys’ teams on their successful Sciath na Scol campaign.
It’s always a brilliant occasion in the school with the mascots and childen in their Glenville colours, and this year our mascots – Rachel Lynch and Lucy Ryan – were outstanding. There was great support in Páirc Uí Rinn too, with many parents arriving to support the team.
And how they did us proud!
The boys won in great style, showing teamwork and class.
Great credit is due to all involved, and particularly to those teachers who give of their time and talents to coach these teams. Well done to Mairead O’ Callaghan and Sarah Clynch who trained the winning boys team and also to Mary Donovan and Ber O’Callaghan who trained the girls team who reached the semi-final of the competition.Well done to all our players. Glenville Abú.
