Confirmation 2017

Confirmation for 5th & 6th classes took place on Tuesday 14th March 2017. Twenty nine pupils were confirmed by Bishop O’ Donoghue. It was a beautiful ceremony with the choir in particularly good voice on the day. Our thanks to their teacher Ms. Marion Forde who did tremendous preparation with the pupils for the day. Thank you to Ms. Mairead O’Callaghan and also Ms. Marion Forde who conducted and played, respectively. Thank you also to all those parents who donated cakes and biscuits for the Confirmation.

Glenville NS Confirmation 2015

On Tuesday 14th April the children from fifth and sixth classes made their Confirmation. They put a tremendous amount of time and effort in to preparing for this special Sacrament and they were fantastic on the day. A big thank you also to the teachers who helped them prepare, Ms. Clynch, Ms. Forde and Ms. O’Callaghan.

The 5th/6th Class of 2013 celebrate the sacrament of confirmation.

On 16th May 2011,thirty two children in fifth and sixth class made their Confirmation. This was an extra special celebration as it was the first time Glenville NS did not share their Confirmation with Watergrasshill NS. The children also wore special Confirmation robes. The choir and music was provided by the fifth and sixth pupils along with pupils from third and fourth also. Archbishop Coveney celebrated the Confirmation Mass.

Last year Glenville 5th and 6th class made their Confirmation with Watergrasshill in Glenville Church. 56 pupils made Confirmation so the church was really crowded with family and friends. The pupils are as follows:

The songs were “Here I am Lord” (which was the responsorial psalm sang by Kate O’ Donoghue, Josh Cooke, Molly Kennedy, Nora-Anne Murphy, Sarah Anne Spriggs, Aisling Desmond, Holly and Katie O’ Neill) “Seinn Alleluia”, “Veni Creator Spiritus” (which was latin) “Ag Criost An Siol,” (sang solo by Maeve Horgan) “Sanctus Acclamation”, Ar Nathair”, “Lamb Of God”,”The Clouds Veil”, “Ubi Caritas” (also latin), A Mhuire Mhaithair” and “Song Of Confirmation”. The Bishop was Bishop White who was 80 years old.
