Sciath na Scol Football Final 2016

February 15, 2017 Comments off

Well done to our boys’ teams on their successful Sciath na Scol campaign.
It’s always a brilliant occasion in the school with the mascots and childen in their Glenville colours, and this year our mascots – Rachel Lynch and Lucy Ryan – were outstanding. There was great support in Páirc Uí Rinn too, with many parents arriving to support the team.
And how they did us proud!
The boys won in great style, showing teamwork and class.
Great credit is due to all involved, and particularly to those teachers who give of their time and talents to coach these teams. Well done to Mairead O’ Callaghan and Sarah Clynch who trained the winning boys team and also to Mary Donovan and Ber O’Callaghan who trained the girls team who reached the semi-final of the competition.Well done to all our players. Glenville Abú.

Kate Kennedy, Anna Ryan, Lainie McKenna, Colin O’ Keeffe, Eoin Fitzgerald and Davan Sullivan played in the Munster Finals Spikeball Competition in Killarney on February 25th.
They did extremely well, qualifying unbeaten from their group and reaching the quarter finals of the competition. They were unfortunate to lose this match by a single point. Well done on a great effort.

The boys lost to Ballyheeda which resulted in a 3-way play off. They played Inniscarra on Monday 13th October. They won this match which now means they will face Ballyheeda once again on Wednesday 15th October. Sports Day 2014

June 15, 2014 Comments off

On Thursday 12th May we had our Sports Day in the local GAA pitch. This even was extremely well organized by the pupils in sixth class and great fun was had by all! There were eight different stations including old favourites such as egg and spoon, wellie throwing and the sack race. A clear favourite however was the tug of war!
We had a very busy day as the Sports day was followed by a visit from the ice cream van and then the quarter finals, semi finals and finals of our own Glenville NS World Cup.(more information on this to follow!)
See some pictures below of our fun-filled day!
